A morphological assessment is a valuable initial analysis for our clients to evaluate the capabilities of Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Specifically, qualitative insights into the sample morphology such as the identification of primary particles and sub-products and the observed on-grid particle concentration can be obtained.
Downstream purification processes can fail to remove host cell proteins or other unwanted structures from the product. Particle degradation can cause parts of its structure or cargo to disassemble. Moreover, low purity can promote aggregation and induce immunogenic responses. Sample purity is therefore an attribute to monitor throughout bioprocessing.
